Joi Ito was interviewed on AlJazeerah English recently alongside Lawrence Pintak of the AUC’s Kamal Adham Center and Global Voices‘ Marwa Rakha (who I’ve had a web crush on for a little while).
Some interesting points including the need for better web fluency in the region which will take time, the need for more arabic content and the future being about the mobile web.
