Scoble interviews Fred. [Building43]

As you’d expect, Robert Scoble launched his new community Building43 with some serious web heavy-hitters. Zuckerburg, Marissa Mayer and Fred Wilson are some of the highlights.

Fred talks a little about the extraordinary changes coming to TV and broadcast. The importance of reading blogs. How APIs are changing the blogosphere and the web- Layer upon layer (connecting via the online platforms – Facebook, Twitter, whatever) built in the cloud (at least partially).

Some other highlights:

Robert: Sometime in the next 10 years, there’s going to be a revolution in education due to the cell phone.

Fred: Yeah, not just the cell phone but you know, this whole home schooling, un-schooling movement, you know, which I thought was sort of like the lunatic Fringe but it’s starting to become more mainstream and I think entrepreneurs are starting to build services for that movement. And that movement’s just really hungry for any kind of service they could leverage and I think there will be businesses that will ultimately disrupt the entire education system that will start in the home schooling and un-schooling movements because that’s the place that they can get going first.

My favorite gem:

    Fred: I snack on Twitter.

The net and mobile really open up the spectrum of formats that media can and will take. From the 2-minute mobile snacks to be consumed while waiting in line to the full 5-hour director’s cut with everything thrown in movie that was too long for theaters and VHS tapes streamed to your home cinema.
